This was my first experiment with appliqué embroidery hoop art, as it’s spring and bunnies are one of my ‘default’ doodles this happy bunny is the design I came up with.
If you look closely you’ll see I’ve used some very simple embroidery stitches to embellish the background fabric, and I’ve added a few buttons here and there to give it a little more of a 3D effect. The bunny is cut from felt and embroidered onto the patterned background fabric. I think this is a lovely way of keeping a piece of fabric that you just can’t part with as wall art, and so simple and satisfying to do.
