I am honoured to be the designer of Feeling Stitchy’s Halloween themed October stitch -a-long! It’s been one of my earliest embroidery ambitions to create a stitch-a-long design for Feeling Stitchy and I’m so pleased I got to do one for Halloween (my favourite holiday!) I’m all about the witches this year, so I mixed a little bit of pin-up with a little bit of gothy glamour to come up with this Kitsch Witch design!
I love the whole idea of Feeling Stitchy’s stitch-a-longs. They are lots of fun for anyone wanting to try embroidery, just download a free pattern and off you go. A huge part of the fun is seeing all the different versions participants stitch up posted on flickr and on the Feeling Stitchy updates. Check out these fabulous creations from week 2 – October Stitch-a-long week 2
So far colour tinting has been proving a popular technique with this pattern, and this impressive version (above) is by Kelsey Best. I’m impressed by how much detail she has worked in, check out those fishnets! I also love the 3D pouting lips and the little blue french knots for the kitty’s eyes. There is still plenty of time to join in the Halloween stitch along fun. Just go here to download the pattern and don’t forget to add your photos to the flickr pool! Make sure to tag them with oct2012stitchalong so that Feeling Stitchy can find you! Feel free to add them to the Cherry and Cinnamon flickr group too: http://www.flickr.com/groups/cherryandcinnamon-embroidery/
